About the Society

Keeping Newcomerstown's Memory Alive

Run by dedicated volunteers, the Newcomerstown Historical Society cares for thousands of artifacts that tell the story of our village — Civil War relics, women's apparel from the 1800s to the roaring 1920s, the music of John Philip Sousa bandsman Manuel Yingling, and tributes to the Native Americans who first settled here.

From the Temperance Tavern of 1841 to a complete early-1900s town recreated inside a 1915 building, every display is a piece of who we are.
