Newcomerstown volunteers built a complete early-1900s town inside a 1915 building that once housed a Ford dealership and the Herco Factory. Walk the street, peek in the windows, and step back a century.
When it opened in 2009, Olde Main Street drew rave reviews — and it's easy to see why. Twenty-three painstakingly recreated storefronts line an indoor street, each furnished with authentic fixtures and artifacts that bring turn-of-the-century Newcomerstown back to life.
Highlights include the Sam Douglas Bar — where temperance crusader Carrie Nation once visited — the Manuel Yingling music room, displays honoring hometown legends Woody Hayes and Cy Young, Lenape (Delaware) Indian displays, and the museum gift shop.

A classic soda fountain where a century of villagers cooled off on hot summer days.
A genuine glimpse of frontier justice, right in the middle of Main Street.
One of the most popular shops on the street, stocked as it would have been a hundred years ago.
Literally axed by temperance crusader Carrie Nation during her campaign against alcohol — a story you have to hear in person.
…plus the shoe repair shop, fire department, and more than a dozen others — 23 storefronts in all.
